Guide for Authors

Thanks for submitting your paper to Recent Research in Genetics and Genomics journal. Please read carefully and follow the instructions below to match your paper with the journal requirements.

1. Manuscript preparation

All manuscripts must be prepared in an editable word (.doc) file format containing figures and tables with a uniform style and typeface; character Times New Roman 12, Standard MS Word margins, page numbering, 1.5 line spacing and lines numbering and submitted through journal website or by sending the manuscript to email: editor_rrgg@yahoo.com.

All submitted manuscripts must be compromised from the following sections: title page, Abstract, keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, Conflict of interest, Author’s contribution and References. Submitted articles should be divided into numbered sections and sub-sections to starting from Introduction section to achieve highest possible text clarity.

1.1 Title page

Title page must contain title, Running title, list of authors, their affiliations and corresponding author full information’s. The title should be informative and concise, not include non-standard abbreviations and no more than 60 words. Running title should be informative, summarized and not exceed 40 characters. List of authors: full names and affiliations of all authors should be provided including Division/ Department, Institution, city and country as well as full institutions' addresses using the superscripts 1,2,3 for different affiliations and the corresponding author should beclearly indicated at all stages of refereeing, publication, and post-publication with providing the complete information of the corresponding author including affiliation, full postal address, Telephone, Fax and email.

1.2 Abstract

The abstract should provide background information on the research, and should clarify its purpose, basic procedures (choice of subjects or laboratory animals, methods of monitoring and analysis), key findings (giving specific impact sizes and statistical significance, if possible), and main conclusions. New and important aspects of the study or observations should be emphasized. The magazine does not accept abbreviations in the abstract.

1.3 Keywords

A maximum of 7 keywords are provided immediately after the abstract, separated by commas, to clarify the content of the article and help with the international indexing of your research and readers to access your paper.

1.4 All abbreviations and acronyms must be defined the first time they are used in the text, even after they have been defined in the abstract.

1.5 Introduction

In the introduction section, provide sufficient background information to explain the reasons for conducting the work and clearly indicate the nature of the hypotheses of the study tested as well as the objectives of the study.

1.6  Materials and Methods

Clearly present all experiments to allow reproduction of the work and draw attention to the important details in the text shown in the illustrations. Methods that have already been published should be indicated by reference and describe only relevant edits.

1.7  Results

The results should be clear and concise in providing the experimental data and showing the important details shown in the illustrations in the text.

1.8 Discussion

It should be concise and clear exploring the significance of the results of the study compared to the reasons for conducting the work and discuss the validity of observations on the results in the light of other studies published on the same topics.

1.8  Acknowledgements

Provides information about sources of funding and lists people who have somehow contributed to the work, but are not listed as authors.

1.9 Conflict of Interest

All authors should disclose any financial and personal relationships with other persons or organizations that may improperly affect (bias) their work. Examples of potential conflicts of interest include consultancies, employment, honoraria, stock ownership, grants or other funding. If there is no conflict of interest, please state: "No conflict of interest".

1.10Authors' contribution

Provides the role of each author in the development of the study and/or preparation of the manuscript, and each author should be referred to by the initials.

1.11 References

Citation in text

Please make sure that each reference mentioned in the text is also in the list of references (and vice versa). Unpublished results and personal contacts are not recommended in the bibliography but can be mentioned in the text. If these references are listed, they must follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a replacement of the publication date with "unpublished results" or "personal communication". Citing a "in-publish" reference indicates that the item has been accepted for publication.

Reference style

In the text: All citations in the text should refer to:

1. Single author: the author's name (without initials, unless there is ambiguity) and the year of publication;

2. Two authors: both authors' family names and the year of publication;
3. Three or more authors: first author's name followed by 'et al.' and the year of publication.
Citations may be made directly (or parenthetically). Groups of references can be listed either first alphabetically, then chronologically, or vice versa.

Examples: 'as demonstrated (Zhao, 2001a, 2001b, 2000; Zhao and Park, 2000)….Or, as demonstrated (Park, 1999; Duo, 2000)… Kumar et al. (2010) have recently shown ……..'

References list: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication.

1.12 Tables and Figures

Tables are submitted as editable text and not as images either after the relevant text or on a separate page (s) at the end of the manuscript and are numbered respectively according to their appearance in the text. Be careful with tables and make sure that the data provided does not repeat the results described elsewhere in the article.

Figures must be provided as a high-resolution TIFF or JPEG image and numbered sequentially in the manuscript. Figures' captions explaining all the symbols and abbreviations used and containing a brief title and a description of the illustration should be submitted in editable form.

2. Peer review

The journal operates a single-blind review process. All contributions will initially be assessed by the editor to ensure their suitability to the journal. Thereafter, papers deemed appropriate are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The Editor is responsible for the final decision on whether to accept or reject articles. The decision of editor is final.

3. Article-processing Charge

Recent Research in Genetics and Genomics is an open-access journal, as all articles will be permanently free for everyone to read and download. Therefore, once an article is accepted for publication, the corresponding author is required to pay 100 Dollars to cover production costs. Payments will be received through PayPal's overseas system, which is a secure, flexible and well-paid service for online payments, or by bank transfer.
